Economic Innovation

We've been making some big strides, but neighboring states are still out investing us 2:1  when it comes to supporting entrepreneurs and start-up businesses.  Especially in a state rich in the resources required for the next generation of biofuel and home to a global leader in logistics. We have be hub where a great idea and work ethic can still get it done, if we can just get start-ups over the the hump.

At 34 I've been married to my wife Stacey for 10 years and together we have a little one determined to teach our oversized puppy how to survive under our cat's iron rule. Thankfully, we have three generations of family close by to help out when things get out of hand and we're right here at home in Shelby County.

I'm grounded in strong family values, integrity and honesty because that's the only way we know how to operate. Anything else seems exhausting. We're very much the  "It takes a village" type because we recognize that helping others and keeping a community strong is the only way to really get by, which is why I proudly serve as the Chair to our local Democratic party. We'll get through this together, even this long bio.

With a B.A. in Political Science from UofL, I spent the first eight years of my career developing businesses and negotiating retail contracts across the commonwealth in the Agriculture industry.  Dealing with everything from Tobacco to Kentucky 31 Fescue, I established success in a strict regulatory environment on some pretty basic principles. I did the right thing even if hurt the bottom line, I listened and I put myself in others shoes before making a decision.

Once it was time to settle down, I needed something that would allow for more remote work, where I was picked up by a Norwegian based OEM in the Aviation industry and currently serve as a US Director and we focus on lowering fuel costs, operator safety, and new innovations in cargo handling. .

Bottom line is that I provide for my family by knowing what real, sustainable growth looks like, solving problems in real time and getting the job done with integrity. I take a lot of pride in showing folks that ethical business practice, transparency & hard work can still yield a good living.

But here I am. With a government hammering policy after policy putting our children's future at risk. Our community is growing more divided by the day and we have leaders without character flying the ship. I wouldn't be me and I wouldn't be doing the right thing if I didn't step up and do everything I can to fix what's happening.

My name is Andrew Thomas Monarch and I'm running KY HD-58.
